What are the rules?

Kitchen

The kitchen is a full service kitchen completely stocked. The kitchen is a shared common space where clients will need to be aware of personal space but also learn how to cohabitate a home and work together. Here is a basic list of frequently asked about rules.

  • Respect personal food items labeled

  • Clean up after yourself

  • No dishes/ pots/ pans left in sink

  • Respect allergies (if client in home is noted)

  • Vacuum floor from crumbs

  • Wipe down counters and appliances

  • No open flames

  • Rotational garbage duty

  • Food does not leave kitchen/ dining areas

Bedroom

Depending on the occupancy of the rooms, clients will either have their own bedroom or be placed with a roommate(s). It is important that clients feel comfortable and safe knowing that their personal belongings will be respected. Here is a basic list of rules for the bedroom.

  • Only touch your own belongings

  • Keep room tidy and organized

  • Make bed daily

  • Organize laundry in personal basket

  • No food

  • Water only

  • Zero tobacco use in room

  • No guests in room

Bathroom

Depending on the occupancy of the rooms, clients will either have their own bathroom or will be sharing with a roommate(s). It is important that clients feel a level of privacy knowing that they will have ample time to use the restroom to bathe and freshen up. We expect that our clients are courteous to other roommates and that time in the bathroom is used appropriately. Here is a basic list of frequently asked about rules.

  • 30 min bathroom allotment for showering/ bathing/ freshening

  • All cosmetics are to be stored in personal caddy

  • Replace toilet tissue

  • Clean up hair on sink/ floor areas

  • Hang towels to dry designated hook

  • No hot tools- blowdryer provided

  • No acetone/ nail polish

  • Mouthwash must be alcohol free

Living Room

We want our clients to feel as though they are a family. We encourage majority of the time in the home to be spent as a group, however, we know that after long days in treatment, time to decompress alone is sometimes vital. Our common living spaces are designed to be welcoming and entertaining. Here is a basic list of frequently asked about rules.

  • No offensive television viewing

  • No food/ drinks except water

  • No guests

  • Be respectful of volume levels

  • No excluding other clients

Laundry Room

We expect our clients to do their own laundry regularly and timely. Clients will be placed in a rotation to ensure that everyone has a designated time to use the laundry machines. Sheets and towels will be washed for the clients weekly offsite and replaced.

  • Be timely about switching laundry over and folding

  • No outside detergents / chemicals

  • Empty out dryer vent every use
